Deputy Director of Buildings & Grounds
West Fargo Public Schools is looking for a Deputy Director to join our team! POSITION: Deputy Director of Buildings and Grounds - West Fargo Public Schools
TERM: Year-round exempt position
SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Director of Buildings and Grounds, the Deputy Director of Buildings and Grounds will assist in the leadership of daily operations of the Buildings and Grounds team of West Fargo Public Schools (WFPS). Responsibilities include overseeing daily operations of mechanical, electrical, and building maintenance teams while supporting grounds maintenance and custodial services, as appropriate.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Present in buildings to monitor progress, supporting team members to ensure timely and effective completion of job duties through appropriate communication and delegation
Lead response to unforeseen issues as they arise during regular operations
Possess working knowledge of building systems, particularly HVAC, to support buildings teams as necessary in identifying needed repairs to district infrastructure
Advocates for improvements or repairs that are cost-effective long term and essential to the successful functioning of the district's facilities, including preventative maintenance
Assists with technical skill development, providing or identifying training opportunities as appropriate
Assists with the management of external contractors conducting work at district facilities
Shares responsibly for after-hour emergency response
Coordinates food and general deliveries to district facilities
Performs other comparable duties of a like or similar nature as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Associates or Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Facilities Management, or related field
Minimum of 5 years of related work experience
Essential knowledge and specialized subject knowledge related to:
Principles, practices, and methods of building operations.
Building and grounds maintenance procedures.
Mechanical, electrical, HVAC, electronic, pneumatic, and climate control energy systems.
Building maintenance vendors/service providers and their functions.
Possesses valid class D driver's license
SALARY: Commensurate with education and experience, a minimum starting salary of $29.83/hour - $35.05/hour, following the 2022-2023 Classified Salary Schedule. (C431)
