ZONING OFFICER/CODE ENFORCEMENT OFFICER

Zoning Officer/Code Enforcement Officer Valley Township, Chester County (population 7,985), a Second Class Township, is seeking applications for a highly motivated Zoning Officer/Code Enforcement Officer to provide zoning expertise, administrative leadership to the Code Enforcement Department, and support to the Township Manager and elected five-member Board of Supervisors as needed. The Zoning/Code Enforcement Officer performs complex and routine interpretation and enforcement of the zoning, floodplain management, and property maintenance codes which includes processing of permit applications, conducting inspections, issuing notices of violations, and handling complaints. Position oversees work of the third-party building inspector. Candidates must have considerable knowledge on matters of zoning, floodplain management, property maintenance, and the Pennsylvania Municipalities Planning Code. Candidate must have the ability to read engineering and architecture plans as well as read, interpret, and enforce laws and codes. Pennsylvania Certified Zoning Officer certification is a plus. Salary range of $60,000 to $70,000; actual salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience with a competitive compensation and benefits package. All hires are contingent on successful completion of a background/credit investigation and physical/drug screening.
