- Community Service Officer
Responsibilities
- Responds to and patrols the town to take appropriate pro-active code enforcement action, including identification and enforcement of Municipal Code violations related to zoning, pine beetle mitigation, parking, animal control, trash, junk/abandoned vehicles and other town municipal laws.
- Conducts initial investigations of all animal bites and vicious animal complaints when on-duty. Coordinates these investigations with Summit County Animal Control and other agencies as needed. Handles follow up investigations as needed.
- Prepares and maintains a variety of reports, records, and/or logs necessary to report daily activities and specific incidents in accordance with established department format, policies and procedures, and timeliness.
- Develops, coordinates, participates in, and facilitates community assistance, pro-active crime prevention, and educational programs; prepares and makes oral presentations related to public safety and crime prevention issues to community and school groups.
- Assists sworn officers with investigations and written reports on minor criminal incidents such as criminal mischief, theft, or attempted theft and minor motor vehicle accidents in accordance with department policy.
- Assists in controlling vehicular and pedestrian traffic at special events and as required by management to meet the needs of the department and the community.
- Ability to function and make good decisions in the absence of a supervisor.
- Communicates in a professional, courteous and timely manner both verbally and written when dealing with Town of Frisco Employees, citizens, customers and vendors.
- Adheres to Town of Frisco policies, standards, and regulations including but not limited to proper attire, safety procedures, and overall professionalism.
- Works in a team-based environment supporting the Recreation and Cultural Department, the Town of Frisco, and the initiatives of the Director and Managers.
- Performs other duties as may be assigned by management.
Requirements
Education: GED or High School Diploma
Computer Operations: Proficient in Microsoft Office
Licenses, Certifications or Accreditations: Valid Colorado driver's license with an acceptable driving record is required. CPR/AED & First Aid Certification (Provided by the Town)
Language Ability: Must be able to communicate verbally and written fluently in English. Other languages a plus.

- Ability to work independently.
- Prioritization and time management skills essential. Demonstrated ability to perform duties in compliance with established policies and procedures; demonstrated comprehension, interpretation, and application of the intent and purpose of municipal codes.
- Ability to establish effective relationships with other departments as well as with community associations, the business community, civic organizations, regional partners, the media, and various interested groups and individuals.
- Ability to elicit cooperation and resolve conflict. Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information.
- Must be 21 years of age in order to testify in court if required.
- Must be able to pass a Colorado Bureau of Investigation background check.
