Our employees’ impact can take many forms. In this role, the Operations Manager will lead employees to serve customers. Our Customer Service Operations team builds and maintains the infrastructure of our company and by leading our Line Workers well, the Operations Manager will not only help to develop their careers but will also ensure an excellent customer service experience.
Some examples of those activities will include: •Complete projects that enhance, improve, and maintain our infrastructure by managing Line Workers. •Meet safety goals by ensuring safe working behaviors and environment •Effectively manage budgets to meet targets •Collaborate with the Area Engineer to manage and meet reliability goals •Enhance community relationships and presence by collaborating with Otter Tail Power’s internal Marketing team. •Support our Customer Care team with effective communications during times of outages •Lead in partnership with Customer Care, Area Engineers, Transportation, Operations Support, Marketing, Land Management and Human Resources to achieve cross-departmental objectives •Enhance relationships with local Electric Co-ops and Municipals •Coordinate support with Key Account contacts Selected candidates will be required to complete a pre-interview assessment.
Qualifications: We’re seeking candidates with a wide range of skills who are obsessed with getting projects completed at an exceptional standard. Some examples of what we’re looking for include: •This position is people-centric so excellent communication and leadership skills are incredibly valued and preferred as we seek the next Operations Manager. This includes public speaking skills and adapting communications style to various groups including employees, customers, and city/state/county leaders. •To be successful in this position, a four-year degree in Business or Engineering or five-seven years of experience in field customer service operations is required. •The Operations Manager wears many hats, so proven success in managing multiple complex projects is a must. •Familiarity with the Collective Bargaining Agreement with which we work will enable a candidate to work with employees effectively. •The electric utility industry can be unique in some ways and to navigate the intricacies of the industry we prefer, but don’t require, a candidate with utility experience.
