SAFETY INSPECTOR
The Missouri Public Service Commission is seeking self-directed, detail-oriented
individuals to complete inspections and enforce manufactured home and modular unit
construction codes and standards in northwest and southwest Missouri.
These positions are responsible for the inspection of manufactured homes, modular units,
and dealer premises for compliance with state and federal regulations governing the
manufactured home and modular unit industries. Work involves conducting inspections
of manufactured housing units; investigating consumer complaints; verifying applications
for certificates and state/federal seals; and ensuring compliance with the requirements
for submission of registration and license fees.
QUALIFICATIONS – Minimum qualifications are 2 or more years of relevant experience
(i.e. construction, building trades, fabricating, installing and/or servicing of manufactured
housing or modular units) and/or appropriate certification. Applicable ICC certifications
preferred. Must have initiative and strong work ethic. Extensive travel within assigned
territory required. Occasional overnight travel may be required.
Starting salary will be commensurate with education and experience.
The annual salary range for a Safety Inspector is $45,329 - $52,109 plus benefits.
