LABORER $26-28/hour DOE Hyder Laborers are assigned to a broad range of work tasks including following all safety rules. Key Responsibilities · Measures distances from grade stakes, drive stakes, and stretches tight line. · Bolts, nails, aligns and blocks up under forms. · Levels earth to fine grade specifications, using pick and shovel. · Smoothes and finishes freshly poured concrete, using float, trowel or screed. · Erects scaffolding, shoring and braces. · Mops, brushes, or spreads paints or bituminous compounds over surfaces for protection. · Sprays materials such as water, sand, steam, vinyl, paint, or stucco through hose to clean, coat, or seal surfaces. · Applies caulking compounds by hand or with caulking gun to seal crevices. · Performs variety of tasks involving dexterous use of hands and tools, such as demolishing buildings, sawing lumber, dismantling forms, jack hammering concrete, and cutting and attaching insulating material. JOURNEYMAN CARPENTER $36-38/hour DOE Hyder Carpenters are assigned to a broad range of work tasks including assisting the Superintendent (Field team) with daily jobsite duties. Responsibilities include laborer supervision, adherence to all safety rules, and mentoring carpenter apprentices. Key Responsibilities · Periodically lead safety meetings · Constructs, erects, installs and repairs structures, concrete forms, fixtures of wood, plywood and wallboard using carpenter’s hand tools and power tools while conforming to local building codes. · Studies blueprints, sketches, or building plans for information pertaining to structures or fixtures needing fabrication; with additional practice in the field. · Layout using building instruments and carpentry tools and basic surveying. · Shapes materials to specifications or measurements using saws, chisels, and planes. · Assembles cut and shape materials, and can fasten together using appropriate fasteners. · Can verify trueness of structure by using plumb bobs and building instruments. · Erects framework for structures and lays subflooring. · Builds stairs, layouts and installs partitions and cabinet work. · Fits and installs prefabricated window frames, doors, door frames, weather stripping, interior and exterior trim and finish hardware. · Constructs forms and chutes for pouring concrete. · Erects scaffolding and ladders. · Know safety requirements for temporary barricades and safety railing. · Good understanding of safe work practices and ability to address and correct as needed. · Create takeoff for tasks and procure materials. · Plan and generate lists for tools and materials for future tasks. · Help Superintendents with the planning and set up of projects. · Operate equipment on site as needed (i.e. Scissors lifts/snorkel lifts/skid loader/forklift) Benefits include: PTO, sick leave, medical/dental/STD/LTD insurance, 401k.
