Habitat for Humanity Vail Valley (HFHVV) is seeking a skilled construction professional to serve as Assistant Construction Superintendent in support of its mission to partner with local families to build strength, stability and self-reliance through shelter. As a member of the Construction team, the Assistant Superintendent is responsible for is responsible for overseeing the daily construction activities of the job site including management and oversight of all persons working on site. The Assistant Superintendent reports to the Director of Construction and supervises 2 full time staff and 2-3 AmeriCorps members or interns. Responsibilities include participation in the development of construction program; project management tasks such as procurement and scheduling; supervision and oversight of subcontractors, staff and volunteers; oversight of safety programs and site maintenance; completion of technical construction tasks; and fostering an inclusive, engaging and positive culture at the job site.

Qualifications: • Advanced knowledge of all phases of residential construction and familiarity with green building practices. • 5+ years in supervisor role in residential new construction and hands-on experience in residential framing • Ability to read and interpret construction documents such as architectural and engineering drawings, site plans, and technical specifications. • Demonstrated coaching and/or leadership experience. • Strong interpersonal communication skills and demonstrated ability to work within a team environment. • Experience with MS office applications, MS Project and Bluebeam is desired. • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record. • Conversational Spanish speaking ability required.

Compensation & Benefits: The salary range for this position is currently $65,000 – 85,000 per year. Initial compensation is determined based on the successful applicant’s qualifications and experience.
