Zoning and Codes Enforcement Officer. East Bradford Township (pop. 10,000), Chester County is looking for a dedicated, detail-oriented professional with a passion for public service to serve as our Zoning and Codes Enforcement Officer. The person in this position serves as the primary contact for inquiries and complaints related to zoning and code issues. Responsibilities include investigating, interpreting, and enforcing zoning and codes matters, as well as reviewing building and zoning permit applications for compliance with the Township Zoning Code. Additionally, the person in this role will prepare correction letters, notices of violations, and stop work orders, working closely with violators to resolve issues amicably whenever possible. The Zoning and Codes Enforcement Officer also plays a key role as a liaison to the Historical Commission, Historical Architectural Review Board, and Zoning Hearing Board. We are looking for candidates with a high school diploma or its equivalent (post-high school education is preferred), along with a valid driver’s license in good standing. Prior municipal experience and a working knowledge of zoning and codes enforcement are desirable qualifications. An ideal candidate will be assertive and self-confident and able to handle confrontational situations. The position also demands someone who is analytical, detail-oriented, and thorough. East Bradford Township offers competitive compensation with a salary range of $74,000 to $110,000, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes health insurance coverage (health, dental, vision), paid time off, life insurance, a pension plan, a 457 plan, and disability coverage.
