Water Treatment Plant Superintendent

The City of Mt. Pleasant is seeking a strong, energetic leader with excellent communication skills to guide and mentor our dedicated team of highly certified operators and oversee all operations within the Water Treatment Plant. A Michigan Waterworks System Operator Certification at the F-1 or F-2 level is required. Salary is in the high $70’s to mid-$80’s, signing bonus and relocation assistance available, DOQ. Position will remain posted until filled.

The successful candidate will be strong leader, who is a good communicator, inclusive, flexible, analytical, organized, and capable of working on multiple projects and issues concurrently. Must be able to adapt and accept change in priorities with ease, provide guidance and direction to a strong and highly certified team in a fast-paced environment, work with others to develop efficiencies within the department and across department lines, provide excellent customer service, and demonstrate strong leadership and mentoring skills. Must be passionate about the water treatment profession and possess a strong knowledge of water treatment processes, operations and management best practices, and Michigan Department of Environment Great Lakes and Energy (EGLE) regulations. A sense of humor, strong team work ethics and excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential to the success of this position.
