Building/Plumbing Inspector

The City of Mentor is seeking to fill our Building Inspector position. Responsibilities include building inspection work for residential and commercial development in the course of construction, alteration, and repair to ensure conformance with existing code and ordinance requirements. The ideal candidate will have considerable experience in the building trades as a contractor, foreman, or inspector. Must be a high school graduate (GED) and possess a valid Ohio Driver’s License. Must hold and maintain State of Ohio Board of Building Standards certification as a plumbing inspector. Consideration will be given to interim status. Preference will be given to candidates with multiple State of Ohio Board of Building Standards certifications including but not limited to; (PI), (BI), (ESI), (RBO), (RBI), (PPE). This full-time position includes a comprehensive benefits package. The annual salary pay range is $51,223 - $94,473. Starting salary will be commensurate with experience/qualifications.
